Google Analytics Individual Qualification
Google launched the Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ) program in early March 2009. The main purpose of GAIQ is to give individuals the opportunity to provide proof of proficiency in Google Analytics. It consists of an online course and exam that aims to promote increased understanding and allows individuals to demonstrate their knowledge of the Google Analytics product.
Free online lessons are provided to allow individuals to prepare for the GAIQ test. The course covers web analytics practices and techniques, and provides information about the implementation, administration and tools of Google Analytics. The online course is currently broken down into four main areas: First Steps, Interpreting Reports, Fundamentals and In-Depth Analysis. Each of these sections contain interactive presentations to teach you about relevant Google Analytics topics. It is highly recommended that you have administrative access to at least one Google Analytics account in order to investigate, experiment with and apply what you learn.
The free lessons can be found at http://www.google.com/support/conversionuniversity/
The exam currently costs 50 U.S. Dollars and consists of 70 questions. You get 90 minutes to complete the test and you need a passing score of 75%.
After passing the exam, you’ll be effective at leveraging Google Analytics within your business or organisation and capable of helping others to do the same. While Google Analytics is relatively easy to use for a beginner, it is most effective and powerful in the hands of an enlightened user. The GAIQ program is great for aiding with the development of employees already knowledgeable about web analytics, and is also superb for individuals who seek ways to improve their job prospects and want to further their own personal development. Anyone can take the test and there is no need to be associated with an business or organisation in order to take to course or exam.
